Saltburn is the sophomore feature from Emerald Fennell, The Crown star turned Oscar-winning director of revenge thriller Promising Young Woman. Whilst this debut shocked critics and split opinions back in 2020, after its international premiere at London Film Festival last month, Saltburn is proving to be even more divisive… and we love it.

Saltburn begins in 2006, at Oxford University - Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin, Top Boy) plays outcast Oliver, who soon becomes enamoured with charming rich-kid Felix (Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi). As the two become friends, Felix invites Oliver to Saltburn, his eccentric family's grandiose estate, for a summer like no other. Just like Oliver, you’re whisked away into a world of excess and intrigue, with shocking twists at every corner.

With stunning visuals and a banging noughties soundtrack, Saltburn is equal parts hilarious and insane, and definitely needs to be seen with the biggest crowd possible.

In an effort to not spoil, all that’s left to say is that Saltburn takes it far, then goes even further; get ready for a wild ride.
