Foe
Released in UK by Met Film Distribution on 20 Oct 2023.
This isn’t your typical Sci-fi thriller.
FOE, directed by Lion’s Garth Davis and based on the best-selling novel by Iain Reid, is set in 2065. However, while watching this, you aren’t launched into space or meeting aliens. You are instead going to a rural ranch to spend some time with Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal.
“Sci-fi thriller starring Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal is 'endlessly engaging'"
BBC CULTURE
If you're familiar with either of these wonderful actors, make sure to head to a cinema and experience their performances on the big screen.
FOE is beautifully cast and styled. The subtle and immersive qualities of both leads is matched by the set surrounding them and the sounds filling the scenes between them.
You won’t find any spoilers here so we cant say much more, but be prepared to leave the cinema discussing how AI and the climate crisis could impact our lives between now and 2065.
FOE isn’t as radical as Black Mirror or as sci-fi as Arrival but we are guessing that if you liked them (like us), you will like this too!.
Don’t Miss!
ps. Join us and watch this before anyone else!. FOE is the next screening at The Pictures - 17th October (London). Tickets available here.
The Pictures is our passion project.
We put on free screenings (in London or Manchester) of films we want to share.
