MASSIVE RESIDENCY: CINECOV (LIVE)

With our MASSIVE brand we are partnering with CineCov as part of Coventry City of Culture 2021 to bring a series of free film screenings to the city.

 Taking place at the ODEON Cinema inside Coventry Skydome, the series of screenings began with a free preview of Reggie Yates’ directorial debut Pirates, and will continue in November with a preview of Palme D’Or winner Titane and an opportunity to catch Spencer, Pablo Larraín’s portrait of Princess Diana.

 Director Julia Ducournau’s follow up to her first film Raw, Titane took home the big prize at this year’s Cannes film festival, and has been turning heads since premiering there. The screening with MASSIVE is a chance to see the film six weeks before its release on December 31.

 Larraín’s Spencer is an emotional imagining of a pivotal turning point in Princess Diana’s life over three days at the Sandringham Estate during Christmas in 1991. The film stars Kristen Stewart as a determined Princess Diana as rumours of affairs and divorce surround her marriage to Prince Charles.

 Screenings are free and are aimed at young cinema-goers in the city aged under 25, in line with MASSIVE’s partnership with CineCov to engage young audiences in the city and offer alternative programming. Following on from Pirates, the screenings will also feature several British productions, such as Prano Bailey-Bond’s highly-acclaimed Censor, which MASSIVE previewed in the city in August.
