Queen & Slim – UK Premiere 👑

Our fantastic production team pulled out all the stops to give Queen & Slim an unforgettable UK premiere. With Melina Matsoukas, Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith in attendance, the evening began on Ebor Street, East London, where the cast posed with the Queen & Slim mural, created in collaboration with MASSIVE.

The stars and guests walked the red carpet, then taking their seats in time for introductions to the film from the filmmakers and cast. All three screens of the Rich Mix Cinema were stocked with treats from our partners; Brixton Brewery, Tony’s Chocolonely and Karma Drinks.

Guests were then invited to the New Orleans themed afterparty at Shoreditch Studios. Tiana Major9 performed her song Collide surrounded by lush greenery, flower and light installations, all topped off with a giant disco ball.

Guests enjoyed an exhibition of photography, displaying behind-the-scenes moments from the filming of Queen & Slim.

We were thrilled to work with London based artist Joy Yamusangie, who created four specially commissioned paintings – all inspired by scenes from the film.

Our friends Wray & Nephew and Stryyk provided the drinks as well as Queen & Slim Hurricane cocktails. All this was to DJ sets from Ellie Prohan, and Manny Norte, of Capital Xtra.
