Little Scrappers
We are hosting a charity fundraising preview of Charlotte Regan’s wonderful film SCRAPPER (12A), raising money for Rushmore Primary School in Hackney to convert their old caretaker’s cottage into a new learning space for pupils.
The incredible debut film from British director Regan, SCRAPPER (12A) won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic after its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
A joyful comedy bubbling with hope, the film follows Georgie (Lola Campbell), a dreamy 12-year-old girl, who lives happily alone in her London flat, filling it with magic, until suddenly her estranged father (Harris Dickinson) turns up and forces her to confront reality.
A dreamy, witty and unmissable tale of family and fresh starts, Scrapper is a film that believes life’s not so much about chasing rainbows but snatching fistfuls in both hands.
The new learning, nurture and meeting space at the Hackney school will serve all year groups, providing two additional classrooms as well as meeting and office spaces.
With the school currently unable to cover the entire cost, we hope the screening will raise over £2,000 to help towards the new space.
The screening will take place at 6pm on Monday 17th July, Hackney Picturehouse in London.
Tickets are £20 with 100% of the ticket revenue going to the school. An additional £2.38 booking fee will also be applied to each ticket.
Scrapper is released in UK cinemas on August 25th.
